My love for artichokes began at an early
age. On my birthday and New Year's Eve
I was allowed to get the meal of my
choice. My pick every year was barbecue
ribs from the Chicken Shack in Royal
Oak, Michigan and an artichoke. An odd
combination I know, but it worked for me.
I’ve been enjoying them every since and
just think they're one of the most beautiful,
unusual, delicious foods on the planet.
In 2004, inspired by my love of artichokes, I founded Artichoke Creative, a full service
ad agency with offices in Encinitas and Royal Oak. It was a vision of mine that finally
took shape. A way I could make a living utilizing my marketing, sales, event planning,
and creative skills, all in one business. The agency took off and as a bonus to our
clients, we created Artichoke Creative shirts, with our logo printed on really
comfortable and fashionable American Apparel.
We gave the shirts to clients, prospects, friends, and the response was always the
same, “this is my favorite shirt” or “I love my artichoke shirt, where can I buy one”.
Being a creative entrepreneur, and with the help of my Art Director Marcia and son
Quinn, we went to work creating the Artichoke Apparel brand.
We are headquartered and live in Encinitas, California, a small beach community
about 30 miles North of San Diego. When we are not working or going to school,
Quinn and myself are out surfing either Stone Steps, Beacon’s, or Boneyard. Quinn is
a bass player and our house is full of live music, great parties, and gourmet cooking.
And yes, we even grow artichokes in our garden. We frequent our cool local
businesses like Lou’s Records, Ducky Waddles Emporium, and Juanita’s Mexican
food, along with many other fine restaurants in the area.
Artichoke Apparel is an extension of our lifestyle. It’s fun, comfortable, sexy clothing
that looks great on women and men. It’s understated yet makes a statement– earthy,
yet fashion forward. We think you will like it.
